Legacy Barbecue: A Tradition of Flavor and Family

Joseph Edwards, owner and pitmaster of Legacy Barbecue, has built his business on a deep love for barbecue and a passion for tradition.

Growing up in Sonoma County, Joseph was inspired by his father, Joseph Edwards Junior, who perfected the art of grilling at the Porter Street BBQ in Cotati.

From an early age, Joseph was by his father’s side, learning the low & slow-cooking techniques, the careful attention to flavor, and the joy that comes from sharing food with others.

Legacy Barbecue is more than just a name, it’s a tribute to Joseph’s father and the generations before him. The name reflects Joseph’s mission to carry on his family’s barbecue tradition while creating unforgettable flavors that bring people together.

His love for Sonoma County is woven into every dish, as he takes pride in using the finest local ingredients. The fresh, locally sourced produce and meats highlight the best that Sonoma has to offer, ensuring each meal reflects the region's rich bounty.

Beyond the grill, Joseph is committed to his family and church, both of which guide his values of community, tradition, and faith. These connections remind him that Legacy Barbecue is not just about cooking—it’s about creating moments of connection.

His mission is to carry on his father’s legacy by bringing people together over food, creating experiences that are as memorable as they are delicious. Legacy Barbecue is a proud part of the Sonoma County community, and Joseph is deeply grateful for the trust and support that locals have shown him. Whether you're planning a small family gathering or a large event, Legacy Barbecue offers something truly special.

Joseph Edwards invites you to experience the rich tradition of barbecue, served with the heart and soul of Sonoma County. Together, we can create memories that will last a lifetime.
